All photos of mammary systems were taken with 11-13 hours of milk (or less). We do not allow our does' udders to go without milking for longer than this time. It is terribly uncomfortable for them. We highly prize a doe whose udder fills within 12 hours. That is a true milker! What we strive for!
Claribelle is a very dairy doe with correct conformation. I am quite happy with her general appearance!! She is long and level with a very nice wide, level rump, and excellent set to the rear legs. She has lots of length, width, and depth of body, open ribbing, and desirable "wedge-shaped" body. Now that Claribelle has freshened and milked off some of her "baby fat" - her withers have sharpened considerably.
Claribelle's FF udder is very beautiful. She has wonderful attachments all the way around, good medial, smooth fore, and nearly perfect teat placement. She has nice "thirds" to her udder, when viewed from the side. I am quite thrilled with her production! She fed all three of her triplet buck kids until they were 9 weeks old with no bottle supplementing. And they grew very well. Combined weight of those boys was probably more than Claribelle herself! Pretty impressive for a FF small yearling! :) I would love for Claribelle's teats to be larger and more plumb. This should improve with some more time and milking. I also wish for her to be a tad higher in the rear.
Update! When Claribelle's boys moved to their new home, she peaked at providing our family with an average of 2.3 pounds milk daily. Nearly five months after freshening, she has tapered down to a little under a quart each day. We are still quite pleased with this amount, especially considering that she is a small doe and a FF. I have no doubt that her production will increase tremendously with future freshenings. Her milk is rich and creamy too!

9/11/09 - Claribelle's udder, 6 months after freshening ~ I apologize for the shadows in the photos. She is not very well clipped either.
Claribelle will likely be bred to Squaw Mountain BlueSummerStorm (name pdg.) for spring 2010 kids.

Spring is a very much welcomed addition to the herd. She is a beautiful, correct doe that I find hard to fault. Her mammary system is wonderful for a FF yearling. She kidded with a single buckling in June and is a very attentive, loving mother. She has a very sweet personality and gentle nature, except when you put her on the stanchion; she is a pain to clip and milk!
Spring has very correct overall conformation. She is long and level, with good feet and legs. The only thing I would like to change would be to strengthen her feet a bit more. Her rump looks quite steep in one of the photos below as she was not cooperating at all. I have a feeling Spring will never enter a show ring as she has a horrible attitude about the lead. That's okay though! She'll make some beautiful show quality babies!
I am thrilled with this doe's udder! It is beautiful and very well-attached; quite similar to her paternal sister (Divinity) in the Camanna herd. I bought Spring without seeing any filled udder photos but was very pleased after filling her for 13 hours. She has good attachments, super-smooth fore, and thin, dairy skin, her medial is great with just about perfect teat placement. Her teats are huge and such a dream to milk! I only wish her milking stand manners were better, but I guess we can't have it all. ;) Her handsome son is also a welcomed addition to our herd - please click here to meet him.

Mammary photos taken at 76 days fresh with 13 hours of milk. Spring was nursing a single buckling, so production is not at it's best. We are excited to see her 2nd fresh udder. |

Panda is a promising young doe with very correct conformation. She is long, level, dairy, and refined with a nice rear leg set, sharp withers and tight shoulders. In the photo below, her rump looks quite steep, in reality, it is much more level. I cannot find fault in her conformation at all.
Panda was shown at the 2008 Oregon State Fair and placed 4th in a very competitive class. Unfortunately, she did not behave herself too well, we'll have too work on that. :) She is far from being a friendly little doe but is showing some improvement.
Panda freshened with a lovely, small udder. She is a small doe herself and I expect her to gain more capacity with more freshenings. Attachments look great and her teats are good-sized, placed perfectly, and express very easily! Panda's udder is the best I have yet to see on a Flash Dancer FF daughter. Typically his daughter's udders take a couple freshenings to fully develop but Panda's is just about perfect! Unfortunately, I did not get a photo of Panda's udder after her kid left. We allowed her to dry up since she is so difficult to handle. She freaks out if you even glance at her.
