Capriola RB Blue Delais

This gorgeous little doe will be staying in our herd. Delais is very correct; she is long, level, angular, dairy, refined, with awesome coloring and bright blue eyes! Her feet & legs are excellent and she has a perfect rear leg set with loads of width in the escutcheon (a big improvement over her dam). The best part is that she walks out naturally with this much width in her hocks! Now that Delais has matured, I find it very difficult to fault her conformation, she is just beautiful!! I can only hope for an equally impressive udder!

Delais was a wild little booger and very difficult to work with, she has improved so much and is so friendly! We didn't even really try to tame her down. . . . I guess she just figured out who pays the feed bill! :) She's finally realized that we're not so bad after all! Delais should be a joy to take in the show ring, we cannot wait to see how she does!

Capriola RB Winter Sage

As Winnie matures more, I am so pleased with her conformation! She is long and level-bodied with a nice rear leg set and high/wide escutcheon (thanks to her sire!) She has nice dairy character and is just a cutie! I would like to see Winnie's rump more level from hips to pins and her shoulders could be sharper at this point. Her paternal sister, Delais went through a growth stage like this and matured out of it, so I am hoping for the same with Winnie. The pasture is very rich this year and her mother still allows her to nurse, so Winnie is a bit on the chunky side at this time.

We are working on taming Winnie down as her dam taught her to be afraid of humans. She is starting to settle down and with some more work, will hopefully be show ring ready by 2010. I am excited to see her udder and am hoping for some similarities to her dam but with a little higher rear udder.

**Winnie will be moving to her new home soon with Joann and three of her paternal sisters (Allie, Sophie, and Luna). We are excited to be able to receive a doe kid back from her in the spring. She is bred to Squaw*Mountain BlueSummerStorm for March kids.

Poppy Patch PB Centerfold

We are so thrilled to have added this little bottle-fed doeling from Poppy Patch farm! We had a hard time thinking of a good "barn name" for this doe, so we decided to just call her "Poppy." She is so lovely with a sweet, inquisitive personality. I am so pleased with her dam, Marilyn's udder. Her attachments are awesome, medial is very nice, fore is super smooth, she milks easily, and has lots of capacity! According to Shannon, Marilyn was steadily milking 1.5 quarts a day, three months after freshening.

Poppy is long, level, and dairy with refined features, a good rear leg set, and nice feet and legs. Right now she could have slightly sharper shoulders (not bad at all though), a little more levelness in the rump, and over the chine. These are things she could grow out of. We're looking forward to her first freshening next year!
