We couldn't be more pleased to have this doe represented in our herd through her son, Royal Blue.  Tasonni is a gorgeous young doe with a beautiful, well-attached, and productive mammary system.  She has an awesome pedigree and this shows in her correct and stylish conformation.  In the show ring, Tasonni has done very well as a yearling and second freshener.  In 2009, as a third freshener, at a large show in Roseburg, she took four back to back Grand Champions, three Best of Breeds, and a Supreme Best Udder.  Exciting!!  :)

Here is what Tasonni's breeder and owner, Anna Brown says of her, "Tasonni combines good general appearance with awesome feet and legs, a nice front end with sharp withers and tight shoulders, and has very good dairy character to top it off. Tasonni has some very nice milking genetics in her pedigree and this young doe's udder was not a disappointment when she freshened. Tasonni has a very well attached udder, both fore and rear. She has large, reasonably well placed teats and is easy to hand milk. As is typical of her bloodline, the medial takes awhile to fully develop so I expect an even more impressive udder with future freshenings. When her udder is totally full, Tasonni shows wonderful capacity."

Our new buck, Red Robin Haze, is out of Old Mountain Farm Zagnut Haze and Camanna MM Bianca.  We are pretty excited about him!  Bianca is a beautiful doe with many show wins (Grand Champions, Best Udders, and Supreme Best Udders) to her name!  She has a lovely udder and excellent overall conformation.  Nearly five months after freshening, she is steadily milking a quart each day with only once a day milkings!  And she is not on a "milker's diet" either.  That is pretty darn good for a Nigerian!  :)

Bianca has superb teat placement and wonderful medial.  We hope Robin passes these traits on to his daughters.

Here is what Anna Brown has to say of Bianca, "I can’t find fault with Bianca’s conformation and she is a sweetheart on top of that.  Bianca has one of the nicest set of feet and legs in our herd. . . Although I really admire Bianca’s dam, Desiree, and her success in the show ring, in many ways Bianca surpasses her dam.  Bianca has more rear leg angulation, tight, sharp shoulders, and more dairy character.  Now that Bianca has freshened four times, I can proudly say that she has an udder even nicer than her MCH dam.  Apparently the judges agree with me because Bianca came home from the 2007 Oregon State Fair with both the Supreme Best Udder banner and also won Grand Champion Doe against stiff competion.  Bianca also won a grand champion award at her only other show this year.  I need to get this gal in the show ring more!"

Sarai is a very beautiful, dairy doe with excellent conformation.  She is elegant, refined, very long and level with nice feet and legs.  She has an awesome front-end assembly being sharp in the withers and tight in the shoulders.  If I could change anything, I would level out her rump a bit more from hips to pins.

We are thrilled with Sarai's udder as a second freshener!!  She has LOTS of milk!!  Unfortunately, her doe kid slipped beneath the fence and sneaked some milk before we could take Sarai's rear udder pic, so we only have a foreudder photo for now.  I would like for her to have a bit more width in the rear udder and her teats to be placed slightly closer to the medial.

We retained Sarai's 2008 doe kid, Blue Delais, in our herd.  She is maturing beautifully and has very correct conformation!  We're excited to see her udder next year!

Lyla was born in our herd back in 2007 - she was from our first set of kids, quadruplets, and was a very special doe.  I am thrilled to welcome her back for the winter.  She and her daughter, Alameda are to be bred and have kids here, then go back to her other owners to be milked for the remainder of the year.

Lyla is a long, level doe with great general appearance and a loveable personality.  She loves to be in your face and is very friendly.  While she excels in dairy character and femininity, I would like to see her shoulders and withers a bit sharper and tighter.  Her FF udder was quite impressive with a lot of improvements over her dam, Bit O' Honey.  Her udder is well-attached with lovely shape, good teat size and placement, good medial, and smooth fore.  I am told she is very easy to milk and her owners just love her.

Allie was a precious doeling that we nearly kept earlier this year.  She is unique being both polled and blue-eyed, but more importantly, she has good conformation and a sweet personality.  Allie is very long and level with a nice, wide rump.  Her rear leg set is excellent and she has good feet and legs.  I would like for her to be slightly more refined with sharper and tighter shoulders.  We're looking to improve this in her offspring by breeding her to Storm.  I am excited to be able to freshen another Roy daughter and cannot wait to see her udder!

Winnie is long and level-bodied with a nice rear leg set and high/wide escutcheon (thanks to her sire!)  She has nice dairy character and is just a cutie!  I would like to see Winnie's rump more level from hips to pins and her shoulders could be sharper at this point.  Her paternal sister, Delais went through a growth stage like this and matured out of it, so I am hoping for the same with Winnie.  The pasture is very rich this year and her mother still allows her to nurse, so Winnie is a bit on the chunky side at this time. 

We are working on taming Winnie down as her dam taught her to be afraid of humans.  She is starting to settle down and with some more work, will hopefully be show ring ready by 2010.  I am excited to see her udder and am hoping for some similarities to her dam but with a little higher rear udder.

Winnie has moved to her new home with Joann and three of her paternal sisters (Allie, Sophie, and Luna).  We are excited to be able to receive a doe kid back from her in the spring.  She is bred to Squaw*Mountain BlueSummerStorm for March kids.
